"Self Portrait" Mother's Day, 2008. Amy Abattoir was born in 1970.  She grew up in an Air Force family.  She attended her foundation year of art school at Parsons School of Design, Paris, France in 1988, and is otherwise self taught. She has lived in various American and European locations and worked in the fashion industry for 15 years, designing and manufacturing garments in Los Angeles and New York. She currently resides in central Pennsylvania where she is painting full time and raising her two children, Violet Morning Bell and Atticus Wolf Bell with her husband, Burton C. Bell.
